GlassTube is a browser extension that changes how youtube.com looks. It is built to work without collecting anything about you.
What GlassTube collects
Nothing. GlassTube has no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no servers.
What GlassTube stores
- Preferences (which features are on or off), saved with
chrome.storage.syncso they follow your Chrome profile. - Recent searches made in the GlassTube search screen, saved locally with
chrome.storage.local. You can clear them from the search screen at any time.
This data never leaves your browser except through Chrome’s own sync, if you have turned it on.
Network activity
GlassTube makes no requests to third-party servers. To build its home rows it may load YouTube pages you could open yourself (for example your subscriptions, history or Watch Later), using your existing YouTube session in the same way the YouTube website does. That data is only used to draw the page and is not stored or sent anywhere.
Permissions
storage— to remember your preferences.- Access to
https://www.youtube.com/*— to restyle YouTube pages.
